Intercontinental Club Legends - Fabian Carini

Héctor Fabián Carini Hernández (born 26 December 1979 in Montevideo) is a Uruguayan football goalkeeper who plays for C.A. Peñarol in the Primera División from Uruguay.


Carini played for 3 seasons in Uruguayan club Danubio F.C., before signing with Italian club Juventus F.C. in 2000, where he spent two seasons and was used mainly as a substitute goalkeeper. During the summer of 2002, he nearly completed a loan move to Arsenal F.C., but at the last minute, the move fell through due to the player's wage demands. He moved instead to Standard Liège, where he spent 2 years on loan.

In 2004, Carini left Juventus for Internazionale, when he was exchanged for Fabio Cannavaro in a transfer which was worth €10 million. Despite being the first choice goalkeeper for his country, Carini was the third choice goalkeeper for Inter. After spending the 2005-06 season on loan at Cagliari, he went back at Inter, where he became the fourth goalkeeper behind Francesco Toldo, Júlio César and Paolo Orlandoni. Carini did not see a single minute of action over the next two years. Before the 2007-08 season, he moved to newly-promoted Spanish club Murcia to compete with incumbent first-choice goalkeeper Antonio Notario. The former player of Inter and Murcia, has signed a three-year deal with the Brazilian club Atlético Mineiro, arriving on a free transfer. Atlético Mineiro rescinded the contract to Fabián Carini, for what they will have to pay a fine to him. The Uruguayan goalkeeper had contract until 2011.

After an experience at Atletico Mineiro, 31 year old goalkeeper Fabian Carini has signed a one season deal for Peñarol.

Intercontinental Club Legends - Mark Iuliano

Mark Iuliano (born 12 August 1973 in Cosenza) is a former Italian football (soccer) defender, who spent the bulk of his career with Italian powerhouse, Juventus FC, in the Italian Serie A.

After greatly impressing in his second spell with Salernitana, Iuliano caught the eye of several major scouts, most notably those of Serie A giants Juventus FC. In July 1996, Iuliano transferred to the Torino based outfit, and was a big hit right from the start, as Juve continued their Serie A and European dominance. He made his Serie A debut on 15 September 1996, 2–1 win over Cagliari Calcio. In his first season with Juventus he played in 21 league games scoring a single goal. Iuliano would become an eventual starter for the club the following season, but was hamperred by injuries in the 1999–2000 season, limiting him to just 20 appearances. Juventus had what was considered as the best defence in the world at this time, and teams strongly regretted ever going down a goal to the club, as they knew how hard it would be to score one back for themselves. Iuliano formed impressive defensive partnerships with the likes of Ciro Ferrara, Moreno Torricelli, Paolo Montero, Gianluca Pessotto, Lilian Thuram, Alessandro Birindelli, Igor Tudor, Gianluca Zambrotta, Nicola Legrottaglie, and Fabio Cannavaro during his 10 year tenure with the club. After the 2004–2005 Serie A triumph, veteran teammates Paolo Montero and Ciro Ferrara called it quits on their Juventus career. The Uruguayan opted to return to his homeland, while Iuliano remained, but in January 2005, he left for La Liga side RCD Mallorca on free transfer after having not played regularly in the first portion season. Iuliano made well over 200 total appearances for i bianconeri, scoring nearly 15 goals.

Intercontinental Club Legends - Igor Tudor

Igor Tudor (born 16 April 1978 in Split) is a Croatian former football defender. He was considered one of Croatia's best defenders in the period between the late 1990s and mid-2000s.

Tudor announced his retirement on 22 July 2008, at the mere age of 30, after the problems with his right ankle reappeared. He spent his last season playing for his youth club, Hajduk Split.

After three seasons at Hajduk Split, he was acquired by Italian giants Juventus in 1998. During his time with Juventus, he won the Croatian Player of the Year award in 2002. During his 8-year spell with the club, Tudor was in excellent form, albeit injuries, and formed impressive defensive partnerships with the likes of Paolo Montero, Mark Iuliano, Gianluca Pessotto, Lilian Thuram, Alessandro Birindelli, Nicola Legrottaglie, Gianluca Zambrotta, Jonathan Zebina, Giorgio Chiellini, and Fabio Cannavaro. During this period Juventus had one of the strongest teams in the world and Tudor contributed well, with over 150 total appearances for the club, scoring nearly 20 goals, as a center back. However, after a major injury in 2004, Tudor was loaned out to AC Siena in January 2005, after 7 seasons with Juventus. Following Calciopoli and the expiration of his loan contract with Siena, Tudor returned to Juventus, but injuries kept him off the pitch all the season. His contract expired on 30 June 2007.

Intercontinental Club Legends - Alessandro Del Piero

Alessandro Del Piero (Italian pronunciation: [alesˈsandro del ˈpjɛːro]) Ufficiale OMRI (born 9 November 1974) is an Italian World Cup-winning footballer who plays for Sydney FC in the A-League. He is third in the ranking of Italian all-time top scorers (326 goals, behind Giuseppe Meazza, 338 goals, and Silvio Piola, 364 goals). He played in Juventus F.C. for 19 years (11 years as captain) and holds the club records for goals (290) and appearances (705).

Del Piero scored in all competitions in which he participated. He was named in the FIFA 100, a list of the 125 greatest living footballers selected by Pelé as a part of FIFA's centenary celebrations. He was also voted in the list of best European players for the past 50 years in the UEFA Golden Jubilee Poll. In 2000, Del Piero was the world's best-paid football player from salary, bonuses, and advertising revenue. As of May 2012, he is in ninth place among the UEFA Champions League all-time goalscorers. Along with six awards in Italy for gentlemanly conduct, he has also won the Golden Foot award, which pertains to personality and playing ability.

He played three FIFA World Cup and four UEFA European Football Championship with the Italian national team. He is joint 4th (with Roberto Baggio) in the Italian national team top-scorer ranking, with 27 goals (behind Silvio Piola with 30 goals, Giuseppe Meazza with 33 goals and Luigi Riva with 35 goals) in 91 appearances.

All Time Legends (ATLE) - Zbigniew Boniek

Zbigniew "Zibì" Kazimierz Boniek (Polish pronunciation: [ˈzbiɡɲɛv ˈbɔɲɛk]; born 3 March 1956 in Bydgoszcz) is a former Polish footballer and coach. He first played at Zawisza Bydgoszcz and later at Widzew Łódź. Boniek was named by Pelé as one of the 125 Greatest Living Footballers and by FIFA as one of the 100 best-ever players. On 12 October 2009 he received a Golden Foot career award.

Boniek was transferred to Italian football giants Juventus in 1982. That same year he won a bronze medal (third place) as part of the Polish team at the 1982 FIFA World Cup. With Juventus he won the Cup Winners' Cup and the European Super Cup in 1984 (scoring in the final of the former) and the European Cup in 1985.

Boniek represented Poland in 80 internationals and scored 24 goals. After finishing his professional career at A.S. Roma in 1988 he had a successful business career.

As a player, Boniek was known for his blistering pace and acceleration. He was one of the best dribblers of his time and also displayed superb technique.

The Juventus president Gianni Agnelli nicknamed him Bello di notte ("Beauty at night") because of his performance at evening matches.

Boniek has also coached in Italy, with stints at Lecce in 1990–91, Bari in 1991–92, Sambenedettese in 1992–93, and Avellino in 1994–96.

Lately, Boniek has served as vice-president of the Polish Football Association, and in July 2002 he accepted a nomination for the post of the main coach of the Polish national team. He resigned in December 2002 after just five matches (2 wins, 1 draw, 2 defeats, including a 0:1 debacle at home against Latvia in a European Championship qualifier).

According to reports back in Poland, Boniek had been favored to become the new Minister of Sport for his country, but he denied the claims and stated that he had no intention of taking up the job.

King of Legends (KOLE) - Michel Platini

Michel François Platini (born 21 June 1955) is a former French football player and manager, and the president of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) since 2007.

During his professional footballing career, Platini played for the clubs Nancy, Saint-Étienne, and Juventus, and was a member of the French national team that won the 1984 European Championship, a tournament in which he was the top goalscorer and voted the best player. He also participated in the 1978, 1982 and 1986 World Cups, reaching the semi-finals in the latter two. Platini, Alain Giresse, Luis Fernández and Jean Tigana together made up the "carré magique" (French for "magic square"), the group of midfield players that formed the heart of the French national team throughout the 1980s.

Considered one of the best passers in football history as well as one the best free kick specialists and finishers, he holds the record for most goals (9) scored in European Championship final tournaments despite only appearing in the 1984 edition. Despite being a midfielder, he held the national team top scorer record until striker Thierry Henry surpassed the 41 goals mark in 2007.
Platini was named Chevalier of the Legion of Honour on 29 April 1985 and became Officier in 1988. He was the French national team coach for four years, and was the co-organizer of the 1998 World Cup in France. He has also been the chairman of the FIFA Technical and Development Committee, and vice-president of the French Football Federation.
